Russia is located in Eastern Europe and is bordered by Norway, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Belarus, Ukraine, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, China, Mongolia and North Korea.

Russia is not a member of the EU but is a member of the council of Europe.

It has a population of approximately 144 million people. The capital city is Moscow that has a population of approximately 12.5 million inhabitants.

Russia is not a part of the Schengen Zone.
