More than 500 delegates attended the ISME Annual Conference last Friday, the 13th of November. The conference theme was ‘SMEs: Daring to Succeed’ and speakers focused on small business success stories along with ideas for the future, particularly in relation to new media and technology. The main speaker, bestselling author Charles Handy, delivered a provocative and insightful synopsis of how businesses can capitalize on their ‘second curve’ and delegates had the opportunity to put questions to the business guru. The conference ended with a ‘Great debate’ and started a conversation about the importance of SMEs which doubtlessly continued amongst the delegates long after the morning drew to a close.
