Update from the CEO on BREXIT, COVID & more

Below you will find an update from ISME CEO, Neil McDonnell sent on 15th January:

BREXIT

As you might expect we are experiencing high call volumes in relation to BREXIT, due to administrative issues especially on the import side. We have decided to host another BREXIT Q&A to help answer as many questions as possible. This event is free but you must register and submit your questions in advance here. It will take place on Wednesday 27th at 11.30 and I will be joined by subject experts and ISME regulars Derek Dunne and Paul McMahon, their full bios are here.

Christmas may be over but the need to Shop Local is not, especially in the face of BREXIT, with extra charges appearing on orders from our nearest neighbour its time to look even closer to home for your shopping needs. Take a look at our Members Listings for some inspiration here. If you wish to be featured on this page please submit the form here.

It should also be noted that Revenue has confirmed that Postponed VAT Accounting applies to imports from all non-EU Countries (3rd Countries) and not just the UK.

COIVD-19

You may have seen that earlier in the week we sent a letter to the Tánaiste outlining our concerns around the EWSS and CRSS. More and more we are hearing that members are having issues making claims. You can read the letter here, feel free to share and tag the Tánaiste and Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment.

Our HR Advisor has updated our COVID-19 FAQs to include information on vaccinations in the workplace and updates to the EWSS. These can be viewed here. Cait has also added a Parent’s Leave policy and template to the Members Area, this is available here.

Our Q4 surveys are now LIVE. Please complete these when you get a chance as they will inform our lobbying in these uncertain times. The Trends Survey can be found here and The Bank Watch Survey can be found here.
