Job Description

The primary responsibilities for this role are:

  • Provide day to day advice and guidance to members on interpretation of HR policies and procedures
  • Keep up to date with all current and proposed employment legislation
  • Develop and review policies to reflect emerging/changing employment legislation
  • Review contracts, handbooks and other member’s material making recommendations in line with current legislation
  • Assist at HR clinics and various briefing sessions and conferences
  • Source information relevant to members and communicate via the employee website and monthly/quarterly newsletters
  • Create information sheets and packs and guides for employers
  • Participate in project work as required
  • Assist in the preparation of submissions in response to proposed employment legislation
  • Provide support in relation to internal HR and Health and Safety matters
  • Act as ISME Safety Officer
  • Additional duties as required by CEO

Required Experience & Competencies:

  • Experience dealing with complex Employee Relations issues
  • Knowledgeable in relation to HR best practice and Employment Law
  • CIPD qualified or working towards
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
  • Strong organisational skills and high level of attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate professionally and articulately at all levels
  • Ability to operate with a high degree of confidentiality and discretion
  • Ability to work on own initiative and act independently whilst being able to work successfully as part of a team
  • Flexibility in line with business requirements
  • Ability to represent the company in a professional manner at all times
