John Barry is a practitioner in Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations. A graduate in law, John began his HR career with the Ford Motor Company Dagenham, England as a Labour Relations officer. In 1980 John relocated to Ireland and worked for the Federated Union of Employers (now IBEC) as an Industrial Relations Executive where he worked in the Distribution and Services Division, advising and representing Employers in all matters concerning Human Resources and Industrial Relations.
In 1988, John established Management Support Services (Ireland) Limited and MSS Recruitment. This company provides advice and representation on all matters concerning Irish Employment Law, Personnel Practice and Procedures, Industrial Relations and Recruitment services to a broad range of companies, small, medium and large.
MSS have been retained by Employer Associations, Professional Firms and Company Groups to provide advice and assistance to their members, Clients and Associates
John is the Co- Author of two books, “Practical Employment Law” and “What is the Law? Termination and Redundancy”..
John has also been appointed by the Minister for Enterprise Trade and Employment to a number of Joint Labour Committees, which have been set up by the Labour Relations Commission, concerning the Security Industry and the Catering Industry. He also is on the panel of Employer Representatives to sit on the Construction Industry Tribunal as a nominee of the Construction Industry Federation.
