ISME ANNUAL CONFERENCE – “The Spirit of Enterprise”

This year’s conference promises to be an excellent day where many of the concerns of our sector will be addressed and, more importantly, where solutions will be debated, to assist business owners in the months and years ahead. Expert speakers, who have been there and done that, will outline their experiences and share with us their views on how to develop and grow our businesses into the future.
ALTERNATIVE BANKING SOLUTION
A key area of discussion will be on alternatives to traditional banking with leading German banker, Niclaus Bergmann, Managing Director of the Savings Banks Foundation for International Co-operation in Germany, sharing his views and proposing an alternative to our sclerotic banking system. Professor Ray Kinsella will outline his and the Irish perspective on banking alternatives.
STORIES AND EXPERIENCE FROM THE COALFACE
EY World Entrepreneur of the Year, Patrick Joy of Suretank and Jerry Kennelly, the founder and CEO of Tweak.com will discuss the life and passion of entrepreneurs. Julie Sinnamon, the newly appointed CEO of Enterprise Ireland, will also add her insights to this discussion.
ARE YOU IN THE FAMILY(s) WAY?
The conference will conclude with a discussion of the importance of family businesses and the problems and opportunities associated with passing them through the generations. Lynn Temple of Magee Clothing and Alan Crosbie, retired, of Thomas Crosbie Holdings Ltd., will share their experiences of the joys, trials, tribulations and sheer doggedness of family business. Anne O’ Dwyer of international consultants, Duff and Phelps Ltd, will address the different taxation and multi-faceted aspects of planning inter-generational transfers.
