When was the last time you used a phone book to find something or some business’s phone number? Probably in the last century as most of use either a PC, a tablet or more so nowadays, our phone, to find out when a store is open, what services a company provides, where the restaurant is situated or just even to find the old fashioned phone number. Online is where it’s at for businesses nowadays.
The best retailers can convert 40% of browsers into buyers
The most successful online sellers, companies like Amazon, can convert a whopping 40% of browsers on their websites into buyers. This conversion rate does drop off quite a bit depending on your industry but if you do it right you can still hit the high 20%s.
According to CSO figures, in Ireland in 2013, 48% of SMEs used social media (Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.) for their business and between 20% of small enterprises had e-Commerce sales which accounted for 13% of small enterprises sales while 43% of medium sized enterprises had e-Commerce sales which accounted for 19% of total sales of medium sized enterprises. That’s a whole lot business.
